You look like you are glowing!
Today at work I was taking a patient back into the exam room to get his vitals and get him ready for the doctor to see and his wife was with him. His wife is also a patient there and I usually see her about once every three months because she comes in for her own appointments, her husbands, and she brings her mom for her appointments, so I have gotten to know her a little bit. Plus I talk to her on the phone with lab/xray results or whatever else I might need to discuss with her. Anyways we were in the exam room and I was asking her husband about his medications and out of no where she said, "Kathy there is something different about you!" I just kind of laughed and said really you think so? She said, "I don't know what it is but there is something diffferent about you." So I told her that over Christmas break I got a haircut, some new highlights, plus I got a cut with bangs that I have never had before and that that was probably what looked different about me. Then she said, "You know your hair does look different but there is something else. You just look like you are glowing! Your face is glowing! I really don't know what it is but you look like you are glowing!" She just kept saying it over and over. So I told her, "Yeah it might just be my new hair-do or maybe because I am pregnant!" And she freaked out!!! It was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing! She told me that the last time she came in she walked past me while I was at my desk and she thought the same thing about my face glowing but didn't say anything because I was on the phone. It is just so weird how people notice things like that. I really don't think I look different in any way. Well, except for a little gut but you wouldn't be able to see that in scrubs! Yesterday I weighed myself at work and thought I finally gained a pound but I weighed myself again today and I was down back to my original weight! I don't know what is going on I thought I was suppose to gain weight!?!?!?! The book said that I was suppose to gain atleasty 5-10 pounds by week 17 and on sunday I will be in week 16 and still haven't gained anything!

Happy New Year!!! Oh yeah, I am pregnant!
We spent the New Year holiday in Las Vegas visiting Levi's brother Art and Sister in law Jamie and their daughter Addison. It is always fun to see them because we don't get to see them much. We spent most of our time watching movies and playing boom blox on the wii. It was very relaxing! Just what we needed before we start the new year and have to get back to work and school. Plus our niece Addison is so fun to play with. When we were getting ready to come home Levi told her we were leaving and she took off her pj's got herself dressed and put on her boots and was ready to come home with us. We would have loved for her to come with us but I think her parents would have missed her too much!
2008 has just flown by us. We have been married for two and a half years now and it doesn't even feel like it. We are so excited to see what this new year will bring us. Levi will be finishing law school in may. Then he has to take the bar exam in July and just about that time I will be giving birth to our first child. Great planning huh?!?!?! We found out I was pregnant the end of October but decided to tell our families over the christmas holiday. I think we finally got the news to all our family so here is the announcement for all our friends! Now I am 13 weeks pregnant and feeling great. I haven't been sick at all. The only thing that really bothers me is the smell of different food, especially taquitos cooking. I haven't gained any weight and don't even feel pregnant, but we got to hear the babies heartbeat last week so I guess there is no denying that I am really pregnant. We are so excited to find out if it is a boy or girl in February!

Merry Late Christmas
This year we went to Utah for Christmas. It was the first time we have been to Utah for Christmas since we have been married. We were both really excited to have a white Christmas. I was so happy that it snowed! We didn't do too much just a bunch of shopping and hanging out with friends and family. We had a great time seeing everyone and catching up with everyone. Here are a few of the pictures we took.

The Elk freaks my dog out
I could only do a picture with the head because the rest of it is already at the meat cutter's. I also tried to get Shaka into the picture but she wouldn't come near the head. She might have been scarred for life when I chased her around the back yard with the head of the last elk I shot.
I should also add that I took along the single most important piece of hunting equipment on the trip: a beard. Not only does it make you look manly and rugged, but it keeps your face warm while you ride your atv and you don't have to worry about dropping it in the forest.

The Elk Hunt
Levi and his dad got drawn for the elk hunt this year. He left Thursday to go set up camp with his dad. The hunt started on Friday morning and goes for a week. Unfortunately Levi had finals that start on Monday so he only had a couple of days to hunt. He went out hunting each morning around 6:00 and hunted until sun down. The first day they didn't see any elk. On Saturday they hiked over mountains and valleys and shot at a couple of elk but by the time they got to where they were the elk had disappeared. They were pretty beat on Saturday afternoon since they had hiked for so long. But Levi went back out with a friend and just before sun down he shot at an elk and was pretty sure he hit it. They hiked over to were it was and they saw all the blood but couldn't find the elk. The next morning they went to check it out and they found him on the other side of the mountain so they cleaned him all up and took it to the butcher. The elk he shot was a young one with a short 5x4 rack. The pieces they took to the butcher weighed 3oo pounds. Levi made it home tonight and I am so glad! I was lonely every night without him here. This was the first time we have been apart since we have been married. It is scary staying in an apartment all by your self. For some reason you hear all these noises that you have never heard before. And I am a freak and watch all those murder mystery shows like "48 hours: mystery" and then I really get freaked out and make sure the door is locked like twenty times. At least I had the ward Christmas party to go to on Friday night. Then on Saturday night I went to a work Christmas party! So at least I wasn't home all night every night listening to all the strange noises. I am so glad Levi was safe hunting and that he made it home safely. I can't wait to try some of the Elk meat!! Levi's dad is still out hunting and hopefully he will be able to get one before the hunt ends on Thursday. Sorry Levi didn't take the camera so we don't have any pictures of his elk.

I've got primary songs stuck in my head
I looked out the window and what did I see,
Drunken drivers wearing pink undies.
The Sheriff has brought me such a nice surprise,
Crooks serving time right before my eyes
I could watch the inmates pick the weeds,
A group chained together right below the knees.
I can see the guards, but I'm glad to be,
Locking my door between them and me!
We have this empty field right in front of our apartment and Levi looked out the window and to his surprise he saw the whole chain gang cleaning up the field. And Yes, they do wear pink underwear!

I love Halloween! I love seeing all the little kids dressed in their costumes. They are always so cute! Plus I enjoy dressing up for Halloween too! I think I have dressed up every year since I was little. We always have some party or activity to dress up for. I was so lucky because my mom came to visit us for the whole week prior to Halloween. She sewed my Halloween costume. It was so cute. Everyone at my work dressed up. It was so much fun! Everyone looked so funny! We had a couple of witches, gypsy, skeleton, tattooed biker chicks, sleeping beauty, Minnie Mouse, cow girl, cat, and I was a ladybug! My mom sewed me a red scrub top and then she loosely sewed on black felt dots so I could take them off and actually wear the scrub top later. She did a great job! She is an amazing seamstress! Then I bought ladybug wings and a headband with antennas. I also found socks that were red with black dots. It was a great costume. Everyone at work liked it. Halloween night we went to our ward trunk-or-treat and this little girl probably around 4 or 5 kept coming up to me and saying, "you're a ladybug. That is so cute. You are so cute!" It was so funny she just kept saying it to me every time she came by. We had a good time seeing all the fun costumes.

While my mom was here we had a great time. I wish she could come visit more. Plus anyone else is more than welcome to come visit and stay with us. HINT HINT!!! It was so nice having her here. Every night when I came home from work and Levi came home from school she had a nice HOT dinner waiting for us. It was sooooo delicious! We were so spoiled while she was here. She taught me how to use my sewing machine and a lot of different things I could do. I think I might have to practice before I sew anything to big. I think I might screw up a lot on this whole sewing thing! I guess I will give it a try. If I mess up too much at least I have a mother-in-law that lives close by that is a great at sewing too! I might stop by with some questions?!?!?!?!
Levi and I also did the annual pumpkin carving! Of course with pumpkins that Levi grew. That's right he grew them in Hot Hot Arizona!! I carved the one that is a bat and Levi did the other one. We love carving pumpkins. We had a lot of fun! Thanks mom for coming to visit and spoiling us!!!
