Merry Late Christmas

This year we went to Utah for Christmas. It was the first time we have been to Utah for Christmas since we have been married. We were both really excited to have a white Christmas. I was so happy that it snowed! We didn't do too much just a bunch of shopping and hanging out with friends and family. We had a great time seeing everyone and catching up with everyone. Here are a few of the pictures we took.

Kathy with our newest nephew Reed! Soon he will be demoted to second newest when our sister in law Lisa has a baby boy in the spring! He took a while to warm up to us but by the end of the week we were having lots of fun playing together.
Alivia showing off her new digital camera. She took over 300 pictures on Christmas day of everyone. Cory got a Nintendo DS that he couldn't put down.
IT'S SNOWING YIPPEEEEEEE!
Levi was such a trooper, every time it snowed he went outside a shoveled the walks! I think he enjoyed the snow too!
Christmas morning in front of the tree. We ended up leaving most of our presents for each other at home because we didn't want to haul them up in our luggage on the plane and on the way back too.
Overall we had a great trip and it was fun to see our friends and family. We also got our fill of winter weather so we won't need any more for a while.

The Elk freaks my dog out

I could only do a picture with the head because the rest of it is already at the meat cutter's. I also tried to get Shaka into the picture but she wouldn't come near the head. She might have been scarred for life when I chased her around the back yard with the head of the last elk I shot.
I should also add that I took along the single most important piece of hunting equipment on the trip: a beard. Not only does it make you look manly and rugged, but it keeps your face warm while you ride your atv and you don't have to worry about dropping it in the forest.

The Elk Hunt

Levi and his dad got drawn for the elk hunt this year. He left Thursday to go set up camp with his dad. The hunt started on Friday morning and goes for a week. Unfortunately Levi had finals that start on Monday so he only had a couple of days to hunt. He went out hunting each morning around 6:00 and hunted until sun down. The first day they didn't see any elk. On Saturday they hiked over mountains and valleys and shot at a couple of elk but by the time they got to where they were the elk had disappeared. They were pretty beat on Saturday afternoon since they had hiked for so long. But Levi went back out with a friend and just before sun down he shot at an elk and was pretty sure he hit it. They hiked over to were it was and they saw all the blood but couldn't find the elk. The next morning they went to check it out and they found him on the other side of the mountain so they cleaned him all up and took it to the butcher. The elk he shot was a young one with a short 5x4 rack. The pieces they took to the butcher weighed 3oo pounds. Levi made it home tonight and I am so glad! I was lonely every night without him here. This was the first time we have been apart since we have been married. It is scary staying in an apartment all by your self. For some reason you hear all these noises that you have never heard before. And I am a freak and watch all those murder mystery shows like "48 hours: mystery" and then I really get freaked out and make sure the door is locked like twenty times. At least I had the ward Christmas party to go to on Friday night. Then on Saturday night I went to a work Christmas party! So at least I wasn't home all night every night listening to all the strange noises. I am so glad Levi was safe hunting and that he made it home safely. I can't wait to try some of the Elk meat!! Levi's dad is still out hunting and hopefully he will be able to get one before the hunt ends on Thursday. Sorry Levi didn't take the camera so we don't have any pictures of his elk.

I've got primary songs stuck in my head

I looked out the window and what did I see,
Drunken drivers wearing pink undies.
The Sheriff has brought me such a nice surprise,
Crooks serving time right before my eyes

I could watch the inmates pick the weeds,
A group chained together right below the knees.
I can see the guards, but I'm glad to be,
Locking my door between them and me!

We have this empty field right in front of our apartment and Levi looked out the window and to his surprise he saw the whole chain gang cleaning up the field. And Yes, they do wear pink underwear!

I love Halloween! I love seeing all the little kids dressed in their costumes. They are always so cute! Plus I enjoy dressing up for Halloween too! I think I have dressed up every year since I was little. We always have some party or activity to dress up for. I was so lucky because my mom came to visit us for the whole week prior to Halloween. She sewed my Halloween costume. It was so cute. Everyone at my work dressed up. It was so much fun! Everyone looked so funny! We had a couple of witches, gypsy, skeleton, tattooed biker chicks, sleeping beauty, Minnie Mouse, cow girl, cat, and I was a ladybug! My mom sewed me a red scrub top and then she loosely sewed on black felt dots so I could take them off and actually wear the scrub top later. She did a great job! She is an amazing seamstress! Then I bought ladybug wings and a headband with antennas. I also found socks that were red with black dots. It was a great costume. Everyone at work liked it. Halloween night we went to our ward trunk-or-treat and this little girl probably around 4 or 5 kept coming up to me and saying, "you're a ladybug. That is so cute. You are so cute!" It was so funny she just kept saying it to me every time she came by. We had a good time seeing all the fun costumes.
While my mom was here we had a great time. I wish she could come visit more. Plus anyone else is more than welcome to come visit and stay with us. HINT HINT!!! It was so nice having her here. Every night when I came home from work and Levi came home from school she had a nice HOT dinner waiting for us. It was sooooo delicious! We were so spoiled while she was here. She taught me how to use my sewing machine and a lot of different things I could do. I think I might have to practice before I sew anything to big. I think I might screw up a lot on this whole sewing thing! I guess I will give it a try. If I mess up too much at least I have a mother-in-law that lives close by that is a great at sewing too! I might stop by with some questions?!?!?!?!
Levi and I also did the annual pumpkin carving! Of course with pumpkins that Levi grew. That's right he grew them in Hot Hot Arizona!! I carved the one that is a bat and Levi did the other one. We love carving pumpkins. We had a lot of fun! Thanks mom for coming to visit and spoiling us!!!

Camp-Out

Levi and I were called to be on the ward activities committee which plans all the wards parties or activities. These next couple of months we are going to be pretty busy with it. This last weekend we had our ward camp out. Then we are having a little trunk or treat in the church parking lot on Halloween, a fall festival/carnival around Thanksgiving, and of course the Christmas Party at the end of the year. It seems like they push all the ward activities to the last three months of the year because after the first of the year we don't have anything to plan for quite some time, which will be a good little break from all this planning! Anyways this last weekend we went up to Camp Lomia (which is the girls camp around here). It was pretty nice up there. We had great weather. We had a good time meeting new people in the ward and even getting to know some people we didn't know very well in the ward. On Friday night we had dinner, then a talent/skit show. Two guys in our ward got up on the stage and one was playing the guitar and the other started singing a Tenacious D song. If you don't know who Tenacious D is I will just tell you the lead singer is Jack Black. Needless to say the song was very inappropriate. But of course they edited quite a bit of the song. Good thing Levi and I were the only ones there who new what the real song was and we were laughing so hard!!! After the talent show a lot of us sat around the camp fire and had smores! YUMMY! The cabins up there even had bunk beds with mattresses to sleep on. It was really nice except for the fact that the bunk beds made the worst noises every time you even thought about moving. Squeeeeeek squeeeeeek squeeeeeek all night long. Then one of the kids that was sleeping in the same cabin as us fell off his bed and knocked down a coat rack on the way down. It sounded pretty bad. So pretty much that was the worse night of sleep I have ever had. On Saturday I got out of bed really early because I was sick of laying in bed all night with no sleep. Levi helped make breakfast for everyone. It was delicious. We went on a little hike and sat around and played games and then headed home to a nice hot shower and nice squeeeeek free bed. I fell on my bed and was out for 5 hours! That was the greatest nap ever!

FINALLY

Levi has been looking and looking and looking for an xbox since his birthday which was August 17th. He was looking for a newer model because apparently they were making them a little better so they wouldn't over heat as much! Every time we would go to any store that had Xbox's he would go and check out the dates of every xbox, but we couldn't ever find one with a newer date. Well I think he just got really sick of looking and since the price came down 50 bucks and I guess they are doing a holiday package where you get two free games with your purchase he caved in and bought one off of amazon. Now it is finally here! And guess what? We got one of the newer models! YES!!! Now Levi can't wait for Gears of War 2 to come out. That game is the whole reason he wanted to get an xbox. I am starting to prepare myself for the day and week to follow when it does come out because I am pretty sure I won't have a husband for that whole week!

6 Quirks

I have been tagged by my friend Amanda! I need to list 6 quirks about myself but I decided since this is our blog we are going to do three quirks about me and three about Levi...

Kathy's Quirks
1. I cannot stand to touch foam pads. When we go camping that is one thing that I will not touch. Even though I LOVE sleeping on them I make someone else put them in the tent. I have to cover it with a sheet because of the fear that somehow through my sleeping bag I will end up touching it.

2. I do not like the sound of joints popping. More like I cannot stand the sound it makes. It grosses me out and I get the chills when I hear it. And of course Levi takes every opportunity to pop each of the three joints in each finger along with his wrists/neck/back/feet/ well lets just say everything! EWWW!
P.S. He just did it when I was writing this!!

3. Levi teases me because I watch infomercials! I wouldn't say that I like to watch them but I just get sucked in. The infomercial could be for the dumbest thing in the world but for some reason the channel stops. I think it is mostly due to the part that we only have 8 channels to choose from and probably about 5 of them have a infomercial on at the same time. I think I have seen the one for the cricut machine like 20 times. But I have to admit the cricut machine looks rad!

Levi's Quirks
1. When ever Levi locks a door no matter where he is or what door it is that he locks he takes about five steps away from the door then says "did I lock the door?" then he has to turn around and check to see if the door is locked. Even if I say you locked it most the time he still has to check it. I don't know if this is a quirk or OCD! He says this only started when he got a truck that doesn't have key less entry!

2. He doesn't like chocolate flavored ice cream but he loves vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. He says that chocolate ice cream has a weird burnt taste to it so instead he would like to make his own.

3. The TWO MAN Hatch rule! Levi and his brother made a rule that no two male hatch's can work on the same project at the same time. For some weird reason if they do end up working on the same project they get in arguments about how the project should be done. Sometimes I think one of them is going to punch the other one in the face! They all think that their way is the best way. This rule applies to Levi, his brother, his dad, and his grandpa!

We want to tag EliseN., Romi R., Jenn H., and Jamie H.

SLIDE ROCK

On Saturday we went up to Sedona and went to slide rock. We both have never been there but we had a great time. On Friday night we stayed up late talking to family and when we got home at one in the morning we threw some things together for slide rock and went to bed. We then woke up at six in the morning so we could get to slide rock early before it got really busy and we managed to leave the house without sunscreen and towels(two of the most essential items for the day)
We got to slide rock around 8:30 and we were able to beat the crowd. We staked out a spot to put all of our stuff and we headed down the slide. It was so much fun but my shorts road up a little and I got a little rock burn on the back of my leg/butt. Of course on the first run down the slide Levi had made it down with success but getting out of the water was a different story. The rocks are very very slippery and Levi was almost out of the water and he slipped and he tried to catch himself with his hands on the rock and of course his hands slid right out from under him and he nailed his forehead on the rock. Then he rolled over to make sure his head wasn't bleeding and he rolled the wrong way(back into the slide instead of towards the dry rock) and it was so slippery that he slide part way down the rock again with a huge goose egg on his forehead. Needless to say Levi didn't want to try it again. I wish we had a video camera because you can sit there a watch person after person fall on their butts. It was pretty entertaining. There was also a little cliff that I jumped off into the water. The water was pretty cold. When you got in it took your breath away. A sign on the way in said the water temp was 66. It felt pretty good after you have been sitting out in the sun for awhile.
It was so beautiful in Sedona. We hiked around a bit and took alot of pictures of the scenery. There were a lot of morning glory flowers all around that were blooming. As we were leaving there were crowds and crowds of people walking up to the slide. I think we left right at the right time. We ate some lunch and did a little bit of shopping. By the time we were shopping we were both pooped and weren't to interested in the shopping so we headed home!

Fun with the webcam

We bought a webcam so that we could do video calls with Art and Jamie, but as you can see it has some cool other features. We will probably put up a post with a video soon if we can come up with a shot that doesn't embarrass us too much. The one picture is Kathy playing guitar hero in the living room, if you couldn't tell. The only thing that stinks is that it can only do effects at low resolutions, so no high quality shots with effects.
Later
Levi

Oh yeah,
Video calls are rad. We got to play peek-a-boo with Addison. We were talking and then all of the sudden Art's video feed changed to a baby with Art's eyes and mouth, just like on the Conan O'Brien show. It was pretty hilarious. The upcoming videos will probably involve mustaches, mullets, unibrows and eye patches. Now we need to convince relatives in other places to buy cameras so that we can chat with them over Skype.

Two years down............many more to go!

August 2nd was our two year anniversary and we wanted to get out of town and away from the heat so I took Thursday and Friday off of work and we headed up to Pinetop. We had a great weekend away. We stayed at Levi's grandparent's cabin. It was a relaxing trip. Levi's grandparents were up there for the summer so we spent some time with them and also Levi's brother Art and his family were there. It was great to see them. We had a great time with all of them. We went fishing at Sunrise Lake on the Apache reservation. We kept catching little rainbow trout while we were trolling and throwing them back. Right before we left the lake Levi's grandpa caught a decent sized trout that we took home. We also went to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls. I am really not that great at it. Most of the time I miss the ball but it is still fun to try. Everyone else hit the ball all the way to the end of the range. The weather was perfect not to hot and not to cold. There are some old school bikes up at the cabin that we took cruising around the forest roads. We also took alot of walks around the block and watched all the chipmunks and squirells scamper around. We love it in Pinetop. We wish we could go more often!

If you want to be a liar(lawyer) you have to look like one!

Levi went on a shopping spree a couple weeks ago in anticipation of getting a job this summer. He got a new suit, plenty of shirts and ties, slacks, belts, and even socks. Oh yeah I forgot even three pairs of shoes! Then he shaved and got a haircut. Well good thing he did because he had an interview in phoenix and he got the job. It was only temporary but at least he is doing something. I don't really know all them terms of what he does so I will let him tell you about it..... I have to find out the current mood of the Second Court of Appeals in AZ to give the firm an idea of how an appeal might come out in a case for millions of dollars that were awarded to a family in a products liability case. It is kind of tedious but at least I get paid for it. This is my "We'll fight for you!" pose. Now it is my turn to go on a shopping spree for cute lawyer's wife clothes. As you can see my wardrobe is fairly limited to what I wear to work. All I can say is at least they are comfy!!

Camera Problems

Word to the wise: if your camera goes crazy on you, check the manufacturer's web page for a repair notice. My dad's Nikon showed distorted images on the viewfinder with white lines and we thought it was trashed. But Nikon had a notice that the ccd was bad and that they would fix it for free if that turned out to be the problem. They fixed it and had it back to me in a week even though it was three years old and the warranty had run out long ago.
A couple of weeks ago Kathy's Canon camera showed some of the same problems and I found out that they had a repair notice on their web page too. I guess that the camera companies get their parts from the same suppliers and so they can have the same problems. I am sending her camera in tomorrow. I just thought that I should let others know that if your camera goes goofy on you, check to see if the supplier will fix it even if the warranty is up. Later, Levi.

An Excursion to Utah Valley

After our trip to Lake Powell we headed on up the interstate to Orem to hang out with my family for the week. We got to see a lot of friends and family that we haven't seen for a while. We love seeing our niece Alivia, and nephews Cory and Reed; they are so fun to play with!
One day my mom took the girls out for a shopping trip while Levi fixed up my mountain bike to bring back to Arizona. We also went with some friends and family to Get Smart. We both really liked the movie. It was pretty funny! In my spare time I made a skirt. Can you believe it!?!?! I actually sewed a skirt all by myself, well actually my mom told me what to sew and where to sew, but I did it. Thanks mom!!. It's a really cute skirt. Elise cut my hair and highlighted it. It's pretty short for me but I really like it. I Decided it was to hot in Arizona for long hair. Thanks Elise for the hair cut I really really like it and I have gotten alot of compliments on it!
We had a bunch of BBQ's that we went to. I love the 4th of July and all the yummy food! At one family BBQ our niece and nephew had Levi pretty busy making paper airplanes and throwing them off the deck to see how far they would go. They had a lot of fun! We also took them to the park to feed the ducks and play around. They had such a good time playing in the the fountian at the park that it was difficult to get them to go back to my parents house. By the time we left we had been there for two hours and Levi and I were pooped.
While we were in Utah during the 4th of july there were a bunch of events going on. One morning we woke up at 6:00 and went and watched 25 hot air balloons fill up and launch off. That was pretty cool to see. There were hot air balloons everywhere. One balloon was Smokey the bear and there was another one that was a bright pink pig but the rest were the normal shape. After we saw the balloons we went home and went back to sleep!
In Utah they have a huge firework show at the BYU stadium called The Stadium Of Fire. My brother and sister-in-law go every year with their family and they had two extra tickets available and offered them to us. We had an awesome time there. The Blue Man group played pvc pipe and drums, and Miley Cirus performed. We didn't know any of her songs but man those little girls were sure freaking out around us. They were so excited to see her. When the concert was over they had a huge firework show. It was so good! Thanks Craig and Lisa for the tickets, we had a great time. I love fireworks! Levi thought it was the best firework show he had ever seen, but then again he is from Arizona where fireworks are not allowed. We had a great time seeing all of our friends and family. Now we are just waiting for them to come see us in HOT HOT HOT Arizona!

LAKE POWELL

This last weekend we went up to Lake Powell. Levi's grandparents have a houseboat and a ski boat up there so we planned a trip to the lake with his family. We had a great time hanging out together! On Saturday we went on a long boat ride up the Lake and ended up at Rainbow Bridge. There is a little dock there to park your boat and you can take a really short hike to see rainbow bridge. It was really neat to see. Also when you are at rainbow bridge there was a park ranger up there and he showed us a dinosaur track. You could even see its claws in the rock. It was from a Dilophosaurus. That is the dinosaur that eats Newman in Jurassic Park. On that long boat ride we all got the chance to ride the tube behind the boat it was a lot of fun. Levi and I tried riding together but it didn't work out that great. We kept bouncing up and down and landing on each other, but it was still a lot of fun! During the evenings we sat around and played cards! On Sunday we took a little boat ride and parked next to some cliff walls and went swimming to cool off. It sure was HOT!!! That afternoon we cleaned up and Levi and I headed up to Utah to see my family for the Fourth of July weekend. I am excited because it seems like there is never really anything going on in Arizona for the fourth because fireworks are not allowed! In Utah there a bunch of different firework shows going on that we will definitely be watching. I was a little upset at Lake Powell because my camera has been acting up and it didn't work the whole time we were there. Sorry no pics. Then I turned it on when we got to Utah and it turned right on so hopefully it will continue to work while we are here so we can get some pictures of our trip.

More Ginormous Zucchini

This is the big one that I mentioned in the update to the previous post. I put a pineapple and a peach in the picture for comparison. The heat is affecting the plants, and they were out of production for a little bit, but now I am back to trying to find friends to take them off our hands.

Mutant Vegetables

That thing I am holding there is a zucchini, probably the biggest I have grown but most of them get larger than anything you can ever buy in a store. I don't think that the picture really does it justice, it is a beauty to behold. It was about 15 inches long and weighed in at 3.25 lbs. They come out of the grow box garden we have at my parents house. There were some radishes that were 4" in diameter that were produced in there but the pictures are on a different camera, I will put those up later. So far we have grown carrots, cilantro, three types of bell peppers, green onions, bulb onions, tomatillos, two kinds of lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower. The garden is only 5' by 7' but it produces way more than we can eat because of the special soil and fertilizers. Kathy takes zucchini to work and has a raffle to give it away. We try to give away as much as we can but a lot of it ends up being fed to Shaka ( the labrador who loves carrots and anything that falls off the fruit trees), and to the rabbits next door.

Outside of the garden we have some watermelons, zucchini, berries, and pumpkins; but the garden produces the best fruits. For any gardeners out there, you should get any of the Mittleider Method books and give it a try. You wouldn't believe what you can grow out of a frame filled with sand and sawdust.

Update: Right after this post I pulled out a 4 lb 9oz zucchini, and within a week my personal best is now 5 lbs 5 oz, which is coincidentally what I weighed when I was born.

Our weekend get-away to San Diego

This last weekend we went to San Diego for a little vacation to get out of town. We left Friday afternoon and got there around seven. We stayed at a doubletree hotel, it was pretty nice! We kind of had a good view we could see the bay and the airport was just a couple miles out and it was fun to see all the airplanes fly past the window and to watch them land. The first night we were there we walked downtown and checked out the city and went to the gaslamp district which is a huge outdoor shopping mall during the day and changes to clubs and bars during the night. There were a bunch of crazy people yelling everywhere there so we didn't stay out to late.

On Saturday we met up with Aaron, his wife Natalie, their son Daniel, and their sister in law Garin. Aaron is one of Levi's friends that lives in California. We met them at Balboa Park and we drove around the park until we decided to go to the San Diego Zoo. We had a great time walking around seeing all of the animals. Levi Liked the otters the best and now I think he wants to have some. Aside from the fact that it would probably be illegal, it is kind of like his idea of keeping chipmunks and chickens, a dream that will NEVER happen!! We saw a show with a couple of seals. They did a really good job they danced around the floor and gave kisses to people and did a bunch of tricks. I think I liked that the best at the Zoo.

When we were done at the zoo we went and got our swimsuits on and went down to the beach. Aaron bought some body boards and we rode them on the waves. The water was a little cold at first but once you got in all the way it felt great. The hard part was getting out and sitting in the wind, that was COLD!!!!

On Sunday we got up and went to the The Birch Aquarium at Scripps. It was a pretty good aquarium we saw alot of different kind of fish and Levi could name just about every one of them with out looking at the pictures with the names. For you that don't know Levi likes to do Salt water aquariums. We also saw an octopus, sharks, stingrays, seahorses and all sorts of other things. I was a little upset that we missed the penguins at the zoo so we found a stuffed one at the aquarium that I got a picture of Levi with it. When we were done checking out all the fish we headed down to the beach and we laid out there for awhile and we watched the surfers surf the waves. It was a little cloudy and windy so we didn't get in the water. We decided to check out some of the shops by the beach and we found a little mexican restaurant that we ate at. It was pretty good!! Then we went back to our hotel and had a power nap, well more like Levi had a nap while I sat around. Then we walked down to the pier and checked out all the old boats and the USS Midway. That thing is huge. I never imagined those ships were that long. I don't know how anyone could drive that thing let alone trying to park it. CRAZY!!! On our way back to the hotel we were in Little Italy and all the restaurants were pretty empty except this one called Fillipi's which had a line out the door and around the block. we decided it had to be pretty good since it was packed so we waited in the line to be seated. The line went pretty quick. Levi ordered the sausage lasagna and I had half ravioli and half lasagna. You couldn't even imagine how much food was on each of our plates. I don't think either of us ate even half or our meal. It was really good and is was only 7-8 dollars for each dinner!

On Monday we got ready to head home but first we went over to Coronado Island and checked out some of the shops over there. It had some pretty neat stores but we didn't stay long enough to see much because we wanted to start the drive home. Oh by the way can you believe that gas in downtown San Diego is $4.25 now that is crazy!

Baseball butts drive me NUTS!!!!

This last weekend Levi and I went to the Diamondbacks baseball game. I scored free tickets from a drug rep at work. He gave me the option of a bunch of different games but I had know idea who would be good to see so I had to call Levi and see who he would like to see. He picked a game against the New York Mets. Even though we lost it was a really good game! We had a great time. Our seats were right above the owner of the diamondbacks and Senator John McCain came to the game and was sitting right next to him. It was pretty funny even though they are on the front row of the game they have a flat screen TV that plays all the replays up close and personal, just in case they missed it. So after going to the game I decided something, I don't know if on airlines if your are to big for the seat if you have to pay for two seats, but after sitting next to the guy at the baseball game I decided that should be a rule for all public spaces. At first I thought that making big people buy two tickets was a really rude thing to do but once you have the experience of having some total stranger sit next to you and rub their total right side of their body to your whole left side for three and half hours, forcing them to buy two tickets doesn't sound that bad. He kept reaching in his pockets for snacks and I would get elbowed in the ribs. It was pretty uncomfortable! Lose some weight or pay up!
Anyways the next picture is of Levi's favorite player Eric Brynes. He is a great player! The picture is from the HD screen at the field and it is enormous. He almost got a triple due to errors from the other team but didn't quite make it all the way and got thrown out at third. We would have won if he was just a 1/2 a second quicker!

Kathy wants it to be clear that Levi wrote this so I put it in the title.

I want a chicken. Not just any chicken. Some guy on craigslist has some Malaysian Serama chickens for $30. I am trying to decide whether I should buy his chickens or order some eggs online and put them in a bator (in my studies I have found that people who raise chickens don't say the full 'incubator').
They are so rad. They look like a bantam chicken, the kind you see on a farm, but they are miniature. They are also the friendliest chicken there is. I don't know exactly how friendly a chicken can be but it seems like these ones really like people.
The biggest obstacle to having chickens are the two dogs that prowl the yard. They go all kinds of crazy when I pick up my BB gun because they think that they are going to get to run down a pigeon. I think that I am going to get a cheap chicken and try to train the dogs not to eat it before I invest any real money in Seramas.
Kathy thinks I am pretty weird. But when I told my Dad about it he thought it was great. I bet that my brother thinks it would be cool too.

STRESSED OUT!!!!

As you all probably know we are trying to move out of our stinky apartment and find somewhere new to live and I am stressing out about it. It all started about two months ago. We told our managers that we were putting in our 60 day notice and we found a pretty nice apartment to move to. We signed all the papers and gave them the deposit of $130. Well something else came up where we had the opportunity to possibly move into a house. So we told that apartment, that no we wouldn't be moving in there and we lost our deposit money. Now we have been waiting on this possible house to move into. Well here we are two months later and not much has changed, still waiting! We have to be out of our apartment on the April 16th. I guess it is about time we take some action or we will be out living on the streets. It has been really hard to find somewhere to live because all the apartments are only open the time I am at work. I finally talked Levi into looking at one without me and if he liked it I would have to take an afternoon off to go look. So he found one and we both checked it out today and we signed up to move in on the 12th just a couple days before we get kicked out of our stinky apartment, and by stinky I mean our neighbors smoke about 3 packs a day and some how the smoke travels into our apartment. STINKY!! So anyways hopefully all will go as planned and we will have a place to live and we won't lose another deposit!

Trip to Utah

This last week Levi had spring break and I took the whole week off and we decided to take a road trip to good old Utah to see friends and family. We stopped in Vegas and stayed with Art and Jamie for two nights. We had a great time hanging out with them and of course playing with our niece Addison. She is so cute! When we were leaving she wrapped her arms around Levi's neck and wouldn't let him go even when Jamie tried to pry her off of him. She must love her uncle!! Then we headed up to Utah and had a good time seeing our family and friends. One of the days my dad took my keys and started working on my car so of course we went out to help him. We ended up working on it for just about six hours, thats my dad for you! But I sure do love a clean car! It looked great, Thanks dad! Levi and I both got a hair cut on this trip. Levi needed one so bad; he almost couldn't see because his hair was getting so long and I got some highlights. On Wednesday we had a family dinner. It was fun to see everyone. Danny brought over his Nintendo Wii and of course Cory wanted to play it all night long. We got a video of him rockin' out when Craig and I were playing guitar hero. It was pretty funny. On Friday and Saturday we had a BBQ and a game night with a bunch of friends. We had a great time seeing everyone! Now it is time for everyone else to come see us.

Snow... it looks good, but sometimes it stinks

We took a trip up to Pinetop last weekend to get out of town. A snowstorm made the trip an hour longer than usual, and we were greeted with a four foot wall of snow when we got to the cabin. It took over an hour to clear enough snow to get the car off of the street for the night. In the morning it took another hour and a half to dig the car out from sheet of ice we had parked on and the snow built up by the plow. Kathy took what I'm sure was the longest nap in her life after that. We made a snowman, played some SNES, and sat around. We were too tired from all of the shoveling to do anything real ambitious. I made Kathy promise that we have to have a 4x4 if we are going to come up in the snow again.

Isn't Kathy so angelic?
After shoveling all day, playing in snow doesn't sound very fun. Kathy wanted to, so we built a snowman. I put a Hatch crack on the back of this snowman but Kathy didn't want to take a picture of it.

I'm going to make Kathy keep her promise about the 4x4.
